Oxfordshire Safe Haven

Feeling overwhelmed and struggling to cope, but nowhere to turn? If you’re in a dark place, you’re not on your own – we’re here for you.

Safe Haven is a project run by Oxfordshire Mind as part of the Oxford Mental Health Partnership. The service is a mental health crisis centre supporting adults (18+) in Oxfordshire. Safe Haven provides a non-clinical alternative to A&E and works with Service Users in a non-judgemental safe space. Safe Haven can provide support to individuals with varying mental health needs from those who have never struggled with their mental health before to those needing regular input from different services and professionals. Safe Haven works with other agencies in Oxfordshire to ensure that Service Users are getting the best support they can. Safe Haven accept self-referrals as well as referrals from health professionals and a range of services.

Everyone’s different, so we’ll give you a choice of ways you might like to receive support from us and you can decide what’s best for you. Staff at Safe Haven can support Service Users by listening to what they are struggling with, helping to think of coping mechanisms, carrying out safety planning so the Service User can identify their triggers and what could help them when in a crisis, practice grounding techniques, and signpost to additional services where necessary.

Staff can support Service Users by providing telephone or face-to-face support. Our staff, peer supporters and volunteers also provide a group space. Group space is in an environment where Service Users can come and participate in different activities as well as conversation and peer support. Group space is not used for talking about individual’s mental health but it is a space for reducing isolation and increasing social contact.

Nobody should suffer alone – please call us. We are open 11.30am – 9.30 pm, 7 days a week.
